When your bank account is low and the snow starts to blow, you know that it is hard to have the Christmas spirit in college. If you are used to going "Elf" when it comes to decorating, and are disappointed by the lack of holiday cheer in your dorm room or even in your off campus home, do not fear because I have found the cheapest ways to D.I.Y your place so it feels like the holidays again!

1. What is Christmas without the tree?

I found some great stores that sell small sized trees for a great price. I bought mine, along with ornaments and lights, at Hobby Lobby. I found that this store offered the most affordable prices to fit my college student needs.

Original Price:$29.98

50% Sale offered: $14.99

With this great deal, you can also purchase your tiny ornaments, star, tree skirt, garland, and lights for incredible prices. Hobby Lobby has offered a 50% discount on all Christmas Items this entire holiday season, so make sure you take advantage of that deal while it lasts!

2. Advent Calendar Jars

A cute D.I.Y I found on Youtube was an Advent Calendar Candy Jar and it is absolutely adorable. This cute idea while compliment any desk or table in your room all while reminding you when the good Ol' St. Nick comes to town. Not to mention the chocolates that you get to eat!

What you will need:

*I recommend shopping at Hobby Lobby for extremely low, discounted prices. If an item is not discounted, here is a coupon to help save some extra money!

Mason Jar

Price: $1.15 per jar

Black Chalkboard Vinyl Labels

Price: $3.99 for a total of 16 labels

Ribbon or Festive String

Price: $0.50 (comes in different colors)

Puffy Alphabet Stickers

Price: $1.50

Candy

Walmart Price: $6.98/ Candy Variety Pack 73 count

3. Bottle Cap Ornaments

If you have an beer bottle caps or wine bottle caps laying around... Take advantage of the mess and D.I.Y those babies up!

This is pretty simple. All you will need are your bottle caps, your left over string from the Advent Jars, a button, glue and paint. You can easily find these items in your room or reuse items that you used for crafts above. If not, and like I said before, Hobby Lobby is your friend when it comes to saving money.

The steps are pretty self-explanatory.

4. Door Decor

Decorate your door like a Christmas gift! This will totally make you smile when coming back from class!

Wrapping Paper priced at $4.88

Ribbon priced at $1.00

With these cute and fun ideas, your room will surely bring you into the Christmas spirit especially because you already have most of these items or only spent under $30 on all of these. Now that is a good deal!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
