The fact that an entire nation has turned against you and you STILL do not understand what you did wrong only exemplifies both the problem with people like you and how our universities and nation as a whole consistently sweep assault and rape under the rug and discredit the victims.
Was your sentence too lenient? Yes.
Could we discuss the plethora of reasons for that, such as privilege due to race, education and financial background? We could.
But, for the sake of time, we won't.
In Brock's latest stunt to clear his forever tarnished name, he and his legal team are claiming that because Brock was found with his pants on, his only intent was "outercourse," not rape. This comes in an effort to remove his attempted rape charge that he only served three months for. This is not to be confused with when he used the fact that he was a swimmer at Stanford who enjoyed nice steak dinners to try to eradicate the possibility of his jail time. Or when he tried to argue against the concrete evidence provided against him.
Just in case you forgot, two Swedish students found the female victim unconscious with her underwear ripped off, dress around her waist, her legs ripped open and remained there because she was unconscious, and Brock lying on top of her. Does that sound like "just outercourse" to you?
From my personal experience, you do not need to have that kind of nudity and your legs to be totally open to engage in outercourse, especially the kind he was performing by fingering her. I'm sure many of you can also think back to previous sexual encounters you have had and agree that you have performed or had performed on you that sexual act with MUCH less nudity and without needing to have your vagina fully exposed by having your legs ripped open.
Your argument that you simply wanted "outercourse" is not viable. Outercourse is defined as sexual relations that aren't vaginal sex. So congrats, you didn't mean to have sex with an unconscious woman, even though she was found with her underwear pulled off by you, but you still assaulted an unconscious woman, which does not clear your multiple sexual assault charges.
Some studies have shown one in five women will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime, and as I'm sure many other women can attest, you don't need to be "fully raped" to endure the emotional and psychological damage of an assault. By completely ignoring her letter she wrote where she spelled out the damaging effects of your attempted rape because in my opinion it definitely was attempted rape, you are furthering the nation's view that you are quite simply scum of the earth. The boy every parent hopes they never have.
You may not have "meant to" attempt rape and permanently scar an unconscious young woman, but you did. So you have to deal with those consequences. Have fun being a registered sex offender for life, even though I think you should also be in prison for life.
