With Stipe vs Cormier going down very soon at UFC 226 on at July 7th, there has been plenty of speculation of what the next big super fight could be. Maybe T.J. Dillawshaw vs Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson if they both successfully defend their belts on August 4th. George St Pierre even recently stated on The Joe Rogan Experience that he would like to be the first to win a title in 3 different weight classes. The Current Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov even has expressed his interest in facing GSP at Madison Square Gardon but we all know Khabib and Conor have somethings to settle in the octagon first.
The fight at the top of the list that is pretty much set in stone is former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar versus Former 2-time Light Heavyweight Champion Jon "Bones" Jones after Jones called out Lesnar after he defeated Daniel Cormier in their rematch for the Light-Heavyweight Championship. Lesnar then responded by saying "be careful what you wish for". Both fighters will be coming of off their suspensions if this fight is made and the anticipation has been building.
Both of these former champions are extremely interested in this Super fight as it can easily be the UFC's biggest fight to date. The last time we seen Lesnar in the octagon was at UFC 200 in 2016 when he defeated Mark Hunt by unanimous decision in an completely one sided bout. But his victory was then overturned after he tested positive for Clomifene after the his fight when he was tested by USADA. Brock Lesnar had 5 wins 3 losses and 1 no contest in his MMA career and the WWE Superstar is easily one the biggest draws in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
As the world awaits for USADA's decision on what they will do with Jon Jones after he was flagged for testing positive in a collection that was taken from him after the weigh-ins for his bout with Daniel Cormier for the UFC Light-Heavyweight Championship at UFC 214. The CSAC said that they have decided to overturn the victory over Cormier after Jones had been flagged for the steroids.
Jon "Bones" Jones and his team firmly believe that this is the result of a tainted supplement that he took with no acknowledgement of what it was. Jones had tested positive for Turinabol which is an anabolic steriod. There are plenty of rumors of how this could of happened if it really was a tainted suppliment. Jones has been very open in the past but his prior cocaine use and many think that maybe what caused him to test positive if he was dabbling again.
While both fighters are wrapping up their situations at the moment there is no doubt that this fight will eventually be made on a big card. It can very well be the UFC's biggest PPV gate ever as one of the most dominant Heavyweights in UFC History the freak that is Brock Lesnar takes on who many people in the mix martial arts world consider the Greatest Light-Heavyweight of all time Jon "Bones" Jones.
