Here's How You Can Bring Back Vintage Fashion On A Budget

I've never claimed to be a fashionista, but I enjoy getting all made up and wearing cute outfits! Something I've noticed lately in the fashion and beauty industry is that old things are coming back in. Things that my grandmother would've worn are now popular and selling out. Famous faces have even been see wearing these vintage styles and fabric. Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge, is known for her conservative fashion choices, wearing collared dresses and floral prints. Some of the most popular designers are now debuting fashion lines featuring pieces with polyester and pleats!

unique-vintage.com features a variety of dresses for any occasion, even formal attire and weddings! Their clothes are so cute, and they're pretty affordable as well! This gorgeous red floral dress is only $70, which isn't a bad price for a style that is trending right now!

Modcloth is probably the most widely-known outlet to buy cute vintage outfits. I have made many wishlists on their website, unashamed. I would love to spend every bit of my graduation money on Modcloth dresses! And if you're lucky... you can even find a variety of cute ones WITH POCKETS! (insert praise hands here)

Another really awesome way to find the cutest vintage clothes is right in your backdoor! Almost every town or city, whether urban or rural, has lots of consignment shops! It takes some researching, but you might can even find one that offers cash back for clothes you bring in! There is a consignment store near my house that takes our clothes, and then credits my account once they are sold! When I go down there just browsing and realize I have money in my account, It's like finding $100 in my pocket!

One of the most popular and widely known recycled clothing stores is Plato's Closet, which gives you cash on the spot for any name-brand clothes you sell them in good condition. You can find a Plato's Closet store in any of the 50 states, as well as Canada!

Yard sales are also another great way, because you never know what kind of hidden treasure you might find! Maybe vintage clothing, maybe a priceless heirloom, or a golden locket! The only precaution is that you may find something adorable with a huge, so the condition of these items may be less than ideal.

My absolute favorite way to find vintage, one-of-a-kind clothing is out of your own family closet! I love to take an aged dress or skirt, pair it with a chunky belt or flashy earrings for a modern twist. I have worn many pieces that belonged to my great-grandmother.

I only realized after her death that we were the same size and could share clothing. At that point, I decided to keep some of her dresses and skirts, because they were cute, and to honor her and her modest sense of fashion. When someone comments on my outfit, it gives me the perfect opportunity to share stories of my sweet Maw.

I found this beautiful floor-length nightgown and matching bed jacket when we cleaned out Maw's house after she passed away. I couldn't believe I found such an old piece that looks so modern! It's even made of silk and in perfect condition!

I've always heard this old saying, and tried to live by its' wisdom: where there's a will, there's a way. It's hard to keep up with all the latest trends and fashions on a budget, but here's proof that it's completely possible! Whether you unearth your own family treasures, find consignment deals, or buy new clothes with retro style, I know that you can add vintage flair to any wardrobe!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
