Wendy's No Longer Serves Spicy Chicken Nuggets

Now, I'm not exactly a fast-food regular. I mean, I'm a sucker for anything Sonic related, and I can't ever turn down a few fries from In N Out. But if there's one thing that I absolutely adore, It's Wendy's spicy chicken nuggets. I've been visiting Wendy's since middle school for a few morsels of these delicious bites. They are to die for. Seriously.

When I made my way through my local Wendy's drive through line, I was mega-disgusted to learn that they NO LONGER SERVE THEIR LEGENDARY SPICY CHICKEN NUGGETS.

Say what now?

Alas, it is true. After the kind teenager serving me broke the super disappointing news, I decided to drive to another Wendy's. Part of me (mostly my taste buds) was really hoping that it was just a fluke of some kind, and that I would be served my favorite nugget meal. But it was true: not a single Wendy's in my area still serves their spicy nuggets. Which begs me to ask the question: why would Wendy's try to low-key ruin my (and other nugget lover's) lives? I mean, they didn't even give me a warning! I could have had one final delicious meal!

After I got home and ate my mediocre non-spicy nuggets, I decided to do some research, and found absolutely nothing regarding the removal, except for this not-so-helpful article from the Wendy's blog. Here's an excerpt:

"Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Nuggets are available in select cities across the country, and the traditional Chicken Nuggets are still available at all Wendy’s restaurants. Customers who are fans of Spicy Chicken Nuggets can opt for our Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Wendy’s also recently added an Asiago Ranch Chicken Club that can be ordered Grilled, Spicy or Homestyle."

Then they tried to distract me with this suggestion (cited from the same article):

"Try ordering a plain spicy fillet and cut it up in cute little squares. Or, order our regular chicken nuggets and ask for a complimentary side of our spicy creamy sriracha sauce."

Seriously? You're telling me to cut up a spicy fillet? Why would they think that was even remotely the same thing? The greatness of the nugget is partially because they are so convenient to eat!

Fortunately to those of you living in Austin, Dallas, Waco, St. Louis, Chicago, Madision, and Milwakee, Wendy's is not pulling the spicy nuggets from your menu. Which is great for all of you, but absolutely no help to those spicy nugget fiends living elsewhere.

Wendy's, I beg of you, It's definitely time to #BringBackTheNuggets.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
