Top 10 Things To Bring To A Music Festival

Music festival season is upon us. Coachella has come and gone. Stagecoach is right around the corner along with Hard Summer, Life is Beautiful and Lollapalooza to name a few. For anyone planning on going to any of these festivals this year or in the future, these are the top 10 things to bring.

1. Bandana

This mainly applies to any festivals that take place in the desert or a dusty place. You have seen the photos everywhere. People with bandanas covering their noses and mouths. Well these accessories are quite practical. With all the dust and dirt in the air a bandana helps protect it from getting in your nose and mouth.

2. Closed toed shoes

There are so man people at these festivals. When the most widely liked artists come on the stage to perform everyone packs in next to each other like sardines. Your feet are bound to get stepped on, so wearing a pair of boots or sneakers helps protect your feet from getting too hurt when they get stepped on.

3. Fanny pack

Some people hate them. Some people love them. Some wear them around their waist. Some wear them over their bodies like purses. Whatever your opinion or style, these are super practical since purses can get annoying and you don't want to drop your phone.

4. Sunglasses

The sun is shining, dust is blowing, and well, its fashionable. Sunglasses are super practical for music festivals but also fashionable if you match them to your outfit.

5. Sunscreen

This item is a no brainer to pack. Getting a sunburn and having it for the rest of the festival would be miserable. So do yourself a favor and save yourself the pain and lather on sunscreen throughout the day.

6. Chapstick

So much dry air and singing. Your lips will feel so chapped after just 30 short minutes out in the blazing sunlight. Any type or flavor works, just protect your lips and coat them with your favorite chapstick.

7. Portable Charger

Several photos. Many many Snapchats. Instagram posts. You name it. You phone will die so quickly if you are using it all day during the festival. Portable chargers aren't expensive and will save your butt when your phone is at 1% and your favorite artist comes on the stage.

8. Hand sanitizer

Using port-a-potties, grabbing on to random things for stability, you never know when you will need to sanitize your hands. Where there are a lot of people there are a lot of germs and you do not want to get sick while at a long weekend music festival.

9. Advil

Whether you get a headache from the heat, dehydration, loud music or some other cause, Advil is always a necessity just incase a headache comes on or incase you hurt yourself and need a pain reliever so that you can keep dancing the night away.

10. Hat

Big hats are super important for sun protection. Especially when you are in the sun for multiple long days in a row. Not only are they super adorable with some outfits, they help protect your face from a nasty sunburn.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
