Punxsutawney Phil called it when he saw his shadow on Groundhog Day, and sure enough, the North East has been hit with one of the longest, most treacherous winters it has experienced in a while. If you're like a majority of people who call this currently frigid region home, you're probably tired of waking up only to find a fresh coating of snow on the ground and are begging for warmer temperatures, and soon. Never fret, though! If you can't outright catch a flight to an island or the south, there are a few ways you can bring summer to the middle of March!

1. Unpack some of your summer clothes.

So maybe this isn't the most practical advice, but it will definitely make you feel at least a little more cheerful to see something in your drawers besides cable-knit sweaters. Chances are that you own some long-sleeved summer shirts, or if you don't, it's totally chic to layer a tank top or blouse with a cargo jacket or denim jacket on top. Bundle up with your heavy winter jacket in addition to that, and you're ready to go to class! Thankfully, most classrooms have heat, so once you get past that initial leaving your house to get to the class in the cold, it's smooth sailing and you can drop the heavy jacket!

2. Enjoy a summertime snack.

Love eating popsicles in the July heat? Are you craving an Italian Ice? Is your favorite warm-weather beverage an iced tea? Well, luckily, you can enjoy these delicious treats regardless of what time of year it is. Head to your local food store to get one or more of these tasty warm-weather classics. (Bonus points if you put your drink in a mason jar.)

3. Go for a swim or play a fun game of indoor badminton.

Many college campuses have indoor swimming pools that have hours that non-athletes can utilize. Take advantage of having a pool at your disposal and go for a swim! It will instantly feel more like summer. If you're not into swimming, play a different classic warm-weather game such as badminton, except indoors.

4. Get your plans for the summer organized.

On a more serious note, why not take the time to get your summer plans set before the warm weather comes around? If you're planning on trying to get an internship this summer, don't waste another second before applying. Looking for a summer job instead? Send your resume out now!

5. Plan a summer adventure.

The best way to make it feel more like summer in March is to plan an exciting summer adventure that you can look forward to. Make a summer playlist and jam out to it when you're planning this escape! Whether it be a vacation with family or friends, a day trip to a local beach or city or seeing a concert, the opportunities for summer fun are endless.

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
