The chest of comic superheroes has been opened by both Marvel Studios and D.C. Comics within these past couple of years and there's no going back. We, the superhero-loving public, are being graced with even more of these epic superheroes within the next couple months to look forward to. So, levels of excitement are bound to be rising and falling within the minds of the public as we begin this journey through the worlds of the superheroes...

The guide to the levels of excitement:

*****= Jump-out-of-your-seat exhilaration.

****= "Can't wait to start watching!"

***= "Hoping this movie lives up to expectation" excitement.

**= Worried apprehension.

*= "Eh, I'm not so sure."

1. Wonder Woman (2017)

*****

Let's be honest, this movie reaches EXTREME levels of excitement, like out-of-your-seat-the-whole-movie excitement. The day of June 2nd brought us the much-anticipated Wonder Woman (2017) movie which has now topped the box office for two weeks in a row and has scored a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. Between the Wonder Woman backstory and then the action-packed scenes of Diana taking charge with her godly powers, I was thoroughly impressed and not to mention totally empower by this film.

2. Black Panther (2018)

*****

We first saw Black Panther, also known as T'Challa, in Captain America: Civil War (2016) and audiences were thrilled to see the emergence of a new empowering character to the Marvel scene. Now that the movie is coming out in February 2018, I, for one, can hardly wait to see his backstory and what evils he will face in order to defend his kingdom. Not to mention the intense levels of excitement at seeing the full extent of his powers which have already promised to be very cool.

3. The Defenders (2017)

****

Netflix's TV series based off of Marvel characters of Jessica Jones (2015), Daredevil (2015), Luke Cage (2016), and Iron Fist (2017) are teaming up to form one miniseries called The Defenders. These superheroes will come together to defend New York City against the evils that threaten to destroy it. This miniseries, which becomes available for streaming on August 18th, promises to be epic as we will see how each of these superheroes work together in the collision of their stories. After binge-watching each of the characters' TV series, my levels of enthusiasm are reaching the edge of my seat in anticipation. Get ready to binge-watch people!

4. Justice League (2017)

***

Ahhh, finally, this November we will see the Justice League team come into fruition outside of a cartoon. However, after the responses to Superman V. Batman: Dawn of Justice (2016), we might be a little worried about this movie as no one wants to see it fail. But, with the success of Wonder Woman (2017), we can keep our hopes up that this movie is going to be just as great as the trailer promises. I mean we are going to see Batman and Wonder Woman working together to form an epic league of superheroes. What could go wrong?

5. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

**

Alright, here's where enthusiasm levels drop a little. Marvel's Spider-Man character is being remade again in this movie that reaches theaters on July 7th. We've already been introduced to this new Spider-Man, that promises to stay even more true to the Marvel comics, in Captain America: Civil War (2016). It was pretty cool to see him teamed up with all of the Avengers. So, this movie could go either way, but let's at least hope that this Spider-Man will stick. I mean third time's the charm, right?

Thus, here we wait, on the edge of our seats, hoping that each of these superhero movies (or TV Series) will live up to the expectations that have been building since childhood. And it is here that the excitement continues to grow.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
