I have learned the hard way that not everything we want will successfully work out. As a matter of fact, what doesn't happen is what will strengthen our way into a direction that leads us to another discovery. I believe in the greater power of knowing yourself through what life throw at you. But part of knowing yourself also comes from doing the things you are most passionate about. The question then follows somewhere between the lines of how to preserve that passion and how to remember to do it. It is harder then you think, it takes the courage to water the seed everyday for that passion to blossom. At some point in our daily lives we catch ourselves drifting away from something that we have always loved doing. My only advise is to be aware of the changes that is taking turn. Are you any longer interested in your passion? What has changed? What new things have you discovered? These are some questions to ask yourself and make sure you are constantly in the path to bettering yourself through the gift that you have within you. As a writer, I personally struggle with holding on ideas in my head and by the time I decide to write it down, those ideas are no longer there. I feel that I write the most when I'm at a point in my life where it is the most stressful, and not when I'm happy. I tend to gravitate towards the inspiration I get to write in moments of hardships. I pick the pain when it is the most hardest or when I have the most urgent need to get things off my chest before anything follows. And maybe that's the reason why my journals are tucked under somewhere hidden. Sometimes, it is the things we are scared about we need to confront. Mine is writing how I see things without any cover up especially when you are made to believe transparency is not the most authentic form of expression. There are moments in time of questioning your beliefs and it could be hard to keep up with what you are doing. Sometimes, I go weeks without writing, thinking that I will write when I have something that I care enough about. I then find it very hard to sit down and write everything that happened the previous weeks. Don't get me wrong, it is normal to take breaks as we tend to get distracted very easily. But understanding the value of your passion is what keeps you following it, once it is forgotten it will be hard to start all over again. So, I urge you and me to keep doing what you love the most for that will develop you into becoming your authentic self.
