If you’re a devout Harry Potter fan, you know that one of the treats the Muggle world sorely lacks is butterbeer. The Wizarding drink is supposed to warm you right up – perfect for the onset of the winter holidays! By following this simple recipe, you can brew your own (non-alcoholic) butterbeer.
You’ll Need…
Supplies:
- Stove or single burner
- Small saucepan
- Stirring spoon
- Measuring tools (if needed)
- Mug or thermos
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 mugful of milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- dash of cinnamon (optional)
Instructions:
- Melt butter in a small saucepan on medium heat.
- Add brown sugar and stir until the mixture looks uniform.
- Add milk all at once. Stir gently to dissolve the brown sugar.
- Add vanilla, and cinnamon if desired.
- Stir for 10-15 minutes on medium-low heat so that your butterbeer is heated through and slightly creamy. The mixture should be golden and foamy on top.
- Let your butterbeer cool if necessary. Pour into a mug or thermos and enjoy!
