Incomprehensible Love

I sat down and talked with my ex boyfriend and asked him his thoughts on love after recently breaking up with me. These were his thoughts.

Incomprehensible Love

What is love? Is it something so simple as to define it would cover its whole story. Throughout the history of time love has been the subject of art, poems, books, movies, and pretty much everything. Love is defined as an intense feeling of deep affection. This however doesn't even begin to explain it. It isn't simply another emotion like happiness or sadness. It has so many emotions behind it.

Honeymoon love. That's the love everyone wants yet hates to see it on others. Don't you hate that annoying couple who always kisses and holds hands and is blatant about their two week long relationship. Yet, if you're alone, doesn't a part of you also wonder why someone doesn't look at you like that? Why doesn't someone make you smile like that? Older generations will tell you love is simple and that it doesn't happen so fast or it has to be done a certain way. This is a complete lie. The truth is there is no set way it's done.

Love hits real hard when it goes deeper. After the first big fight, the makeup, how one another manages/reacts. It goes deeper by knocking things off your bucket list with that one person. Sometimes it goes deeper when a tragedy strikes and one consoles the other. When you can fully trust someone and then support them and it is mutual, the feeling is out of this world. Some people dont let go the importance of this and stay together forever, while others forget.

Breaking up. The classics. "There's plenty of fish in the sea" or "Some things aren't meant to be". These are often truthful, however don't give much help to someone who is heartbroken. Being there is a dark place no matter why or how you get there. Cheating, lying, or just falling out of love can all lead to this. The point is that it isn't the end of the world, it's the end of that relationship.

Moving on can be a difficult task. Waiting the appropriate amount of time as well as deciding when you are mentally stable to try again or just move on as a human being can be very challenging. It is debatable one of the biggest existential challenges you'll ever face. Some people find it easy while some don't. It can be as simple as rebounding, or figuring out how to be happy again.

All of the above paragraphs are direct quotes from my once boyfriend. We agreed to be friends and to remain in contact. After he wrote all of the above, he looked at me and had a sparkle in his eye. It gave me hope that one day we can be together again, but alas, I lied too much during our relationship about stupid things.

Here's some advice for all of you love birds out there- don't lie to your significant other, no matter if you think the truth will hurt them, the truth will always be better than lie. I truly loved this boy and I have the deepest respect for him. I really hope we end up together sometime in the future, but if we do not, I hope he finds a girl who makes him the happiest person alive.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
