Say what you want, but breakfast is undoubtably the best meal of the day. It's delicious and the options are endless. There's literally something for everyone. There's eggs, yogurt, cereal, meat, (chicken &) waffles, pancakes, smoothies, toast, fruit, bagels and so much more. And it's so loved by so many people that it's even sometimes added in to lunch to make the always enjoyable, "brunch." In fact, it's even trendy to have "breakfast for dinner" or even "breakfast at midnight" (like Taylor Swift). But really, no matter if you're healthy or not, a vegetarian or a meat lover, an early or late riser, breakfast foods never seem to disappoint. Basically you really just can't go wrong with breakfast foods. So here's a list of some of the reasons why breakfast food is the best type of food according to the characters of "Parks & Rec":

1. It serves as a top choice for almost any meal.

Eggs and homefries can serve as the perfect breakfast, lunch or dinner. Whether it's a 5 a.m. pre-commute to work sausage, egg and cheese, 6 p.m. cereal for dinner or pancakes at midnight, breakfast is always delicious.

2. Breakfast foods are guaranteed to put a smile on anyone's face.

Don't even tell me the smell of bacon doesn't warm your heart or that you haven't been looking forward to that Saturday morning Gunthers.

3. It can be used as a distraction from anything.

Whether it's a hangover, headache or a tough break-up, a breakfast date with a good friend is sure to take your mind off of things for a little while.

4. Since you are 'breaking your fast' you can eat as much as you want.

Maybe you're super hungry and maybe you're not, but whether you want one pancake or a tall stack, you can do either with little to no judgement because you really "haven't eaten all day."

5. Bacon.

Need I say more?

6. Breakfast brings people together.

Whether it's the usual family meal or friends from home reuniting after a year at college, breakfast is a great excuse to catch up while enjoying delicious food.

7. Mimosas.

For when you need to "treat yo self." I mean who doesn't love orange juice (and an excuse to feel fancy and drink champagne). Cheers!

8. Because it can be made into dessert (the close second best type of food).

Add some ice cream to the waffle or make yourself a milkshake, and enjoy the deliciousness.

9. Coffee.

It's delicious, there are countless flavors, you can have it hot or cold and it's sure to give you the boost you need to start the day.

10. It's just all around delicious.

Breakfast food is simply the best, don't fight me on this.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
