I do not know about you guys, but I LOVE Thanksgiving Break. The food, the family, the football and just time to relax. Here are a few more reasons why Thanksgiving Break is a gift from God himself:

1. Time with family and friends

Thanksgiving is a chance to see relatives who you probably haven't seen since summer. All the aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins all together in one home is an amazing feeling. Also, all colleges and schools have break off during this time, so your long-distance colleges girlfriends can hang most of the weekend!

2. Sleep...sleep..sleep

If you're like me, then this semester has been exhausting. Sleeping in on the weekends at school seems impossible with all the noon games (thanks MSU), plus laundry and homework pilling up. This is a good opportunity to be lazy and lounge around in your PJ's all day. I cannot wait to be cuddled up with my boo during my food coma.

3. Mental break

Besides a break from school, Thanksgiving break is a mental break as well. Chances are you're back at home, sleeping in your own bed and chilling with your pets. No pressure from your classwork (yet) and hopefully none from your family either (Sometimes Aunt Karen needs to shut up). When break is over, there's only 3 more weeks left of the semester and then we have almost a month off! Not going tropical this winter, but this next winter break will be amazing.

4. Black Friday

Now that Thanksgiving has passed, it is full Christmas shopping mode. My family gets really intense on Black Friday and usually leave dinner early to catch all the stores that start Thursday night. This is a time where we usually shop for "Adopt A Family", so it adds on top of all the "thankfulness" and good feelings.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
