I'm lost in the woods.
But I'm not sure if
I'm predator or prey.
All the trees look familiar.
It's like they're watching me move.
Their leaves, pointing me in the wind's path,
but I don't know whether I should stay.
The quiet night refreshes my spirits.
I hear my heart pound.
Something is behind me,
a mountain lion, licking its lips,
ready to pounce.
I stop and breath to
look the animal in the eyes.
We are the same
beings roaming free.
We speak the unspoken language.
As we go our separate ways,
I look back
and have no fear.
