A lot of people weren't too happy with NFL players exercising their freedom of speech to protest racial injustice and racial inequalities in the United States. I'm sure you saw various reasons on your social media which included, but were not limited to, disrespecting our men/women in uniform. There isn't really a problem to begin with, actually, I'll just stop and you can read some for yourself.
I always thought it quite peculiar to tell someone to get out of the country, or that he is a POS for protesting. Even if I don't agree with you I feel like you should be able to protest till for however long or in (mostly) whatever way your heart desires.
Also ironic in this whole situation is a certain problem that the NFL has with some of its employees partaking in a certain activity which involves the beating of their significant other, usually without punishment. That or the punishment isn't quick enough, or severe enough. Don't see too many fans turning off their TVs for that, or tweeting at players saying they are now officially "the lowest of the low," but that's neither here nor there.
The good news for NFL fans is one player decided to stop kneeling during the anthem. Great, all is right with the world now. So, why don't you see too many of those fans talking about this, do you? Where are those angry fans tweeting how happy and proud they are that somebody has finally seen the light in the NFL?
My guess is because they don't really care, as you can see from the tweets. They didn't care about the reasoning behind the protest, they didn't care about the flag or our veterans, they were just mad because race was brought up and it made them feel uncomfortable.
I'm here to shed some light, though. NFL fans, he stopped protesting because changed actually happened. Yes, my football loving friends, there really was an end game and an actual point to these protests. I know that it is shocking news to you all because of your #AllLivesMatter (except when it's cops then it's conveniently #BlueLivesMatter) response, and your blatant disregard to even see that maybe, just maybe, people of color in the United States at the VERY least kind of, sort of, possibly, experience some racism here and there at times.
This is the goal of Black Lives Matter. This is the goal of activists fighting for reform. If you don't believe me, you can go to their website yourself and look. This isn't about wanting criminals to get away with crimes, or anti-police, it's about ways to strengthen the relationship between communities and the police.
