How And Where To Be A Brand Representative

Yay for free things!

How And Where To Be A Brand Representative
Lauren Borchart

I've had quite a few people ask me what a "Brand Representative" is. Ask me why I post so many pictures on social media and why I keep pushing some products so hard. Well that's because it's my job! I am and have been a Brand Rep for quite a few companies. I've worked with Sand Cloud Towels, Pura Vida, Vaya Lifestyle, Serengetee, Wanderer Bracelets, Pure Tatts, Morro Wear and more. Now I don't work for all of them at once, usually I overlap 3 or 4 but you learn over time what companies are like and who you want to work for.

A Brand Rep is basically a person who represents the company and has to provide various services, such as posting on social media, spreading the word of the company, taking pictures, providing feedback, ect. In return, most companies give free products and many give commission based on how many sales you make.

Here are my favorite companies I've been a Brand Rep for!

Serengetee

Seregetee has a unique program in where it is semester based and targeted towards high school and college students. They have a point system where you get a free item from their store and have to compete in competitions to gain points for prizes and gear. Competitions include specific pictures, videos, and sales earned. Currently you can apply to be a Fall Campus rep on their website and be sure to mention my name when you apply! I got a lot of items from Serengetee which I love to wear, so it was a nice program to participate in.

Wanderer Bracelets

Wanderer Bracelets had a program in which they sent us a lot of bracelets in a rep kit, in addition to a customized bracelet. We had to post weekly on our social media and send in 5 pictures each weekend showcasing our bracelet. In addition to the free bracelets, I also got 10% on all bracelets I sold which is a huge plus! This was their first go around on a Rep Program and they're going to change a few things, so I'm not sure how it'll be for this season. However, applications are open, so feel free to look up Wanderer Bracelets and apply! Gotta do my job so, if you want 10% off Wanderer Bracelets use the code 'LAURENBORCHART10' at checkout!

Sand Cloud Towels

Sand Cloud does not give out anything for free, however, they do give a generous discount on your first towel and a specific code for you to pass out to fiends and family. Based on how many purchases are made using your code and how often you participate in their social media opportunities, you can ear $50 credit to their store! Another shameless plug here, use the code 'Lborchart25' for 25% off your purchase!

If you have any questions please feel free to ask or if you want discounts to some of the other places I listed above message me, it's a great thing to add to resumes and get a little extra cash and gifts!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
