10 Reasons I Appreciate My Non-Perfect Boyfriend

Being in a new relationship is always fun and can be very exciting, but when you've had bad luck with relationships, you're thankful to have a great one.

I cannot express what I feel when I’m with you, you give me a happiness I have been looking for and I’m not ashamed to say it. When you came into my life I was very unhappy and it felt like a drought; nothing was exciting to me anymore. No guy and no amount of fun could fill that void that was there. I started to have a depressing vibe about me. I didn't notice it, but others did, and that was scary for me. But that all changed as November of 2015 approached.

I saw you pop up in my 'People you may know on Facebook', my fancy was tickled and I couldn’t help but send that request. As time moved on, I posted things hoping you would even interact with them. I almost gave up, but luck was on my side. My very last attempt was a “to be honest” status and all my prayers were answered. You liked it, I was so excited! This was the moment I was hoping for and from there, our story started. We texted, flirted, we even went old school and talked on the phone. I started to feel something I haven’t before. That tingle I got in the pit of my stomach that I couldn’t control. I didn’t know then but it was the feeling I had been searching for.

After little over a month, we made the decision to start “dating” on the first day of the new year. As we continued our relationship I begin to feel like I was changing, I was never the type to be lovey dovey. I was all about no affection, but you broke down that wall fairly quick. I learned a thing about you that would make most girls run away, I looked at it as a challenge; you weren’t that person that people tried to tell me you were. You were actually the complete opposite: Sweet, Kind, Goofy, and not to mention a country boy at heart!

Now here are the 10 reasons why I appreciate my non-perfect boyfriend:

  1. You love me for me! I never have to act as if I was someone else for you to fall for me.
  2. You support me! You are one of my biggest cheerleaders!
  3. You deal with my crazy attitudes like a champ!
  4. That you always tell me I look beautiful (even when I blatantly don’t!).
  5. We argue about who loves who most!
  6. How you can get me out of a bad mood (even if it’s you who put me in it).
  7. How you still get shy about things.
  8. The way you laugh when I tickle you (because you are trying so hard not too lol.
  9. The way I feel safe when I’m with you.
  10. How you’ve helped me remember who I really am, not who other people want me to be.

These are a few things about my boyfriend that always make me happy. These reasons don't necessarily make or break our relationship. They are just a few reasons I love my boyfriend. He is no angel nor is he even close perfect but he’s the best thing that happened to me so far. And I can’t wait for us to grow old together .

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
