To My Boyfriend's Family

I just want to say thank you.

To My Boyfriend's Family
Sena Haverkamp

This one isn't easy to sit down and write because nothing I could say would do all of you justice in the way that I would hope I could. I can replay the moment I met you guys because I was extremely nervous. I was scared I wouldn't make the "right" impression. Because, of course, I wanted everyone to love me right from the start. I think one of the most important thinks in my relationship is that my boyfriend's family likes me for who I am. This is so important to me because whatever is important to him, is important to me.

Thank you for constantly making me laugh and feel at home

Whenever I am coming over, I know right away that i'm walking into a world full of laughter and good times. You guys always have a good story to tell me. I can't name one time where I didn't feel like I was home. And I really appreciate the sweet, embarrassing pictures and stories that you all share with me.

Thank you for being here for me

We just have that connection. The connection most people don't get. I never thought that my boyfriends mom would be so much like me. But, I love that you are. You listen to me complain and give me great advise to keep me on my feet. You never fail to cheer me up. You're honestly the best. You're always right there when I fall down. You treat me as if I'm one of your own, and i'll be forever grateful for the love you have for me.

Thank you for letting me make memories with you.

Thank you for trusting me with your son/brother.

I know how important and precious he is to all of you, and I won't break his heart. I will do everything I can to make him as happy as possible. I promise I will never break his heart. It truly means a lot knowing you trust me as much as you do.

Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

Never have you ever said you guys wished I was another girl, or looked like another girl. You all simply love and care for me and that's all I can ask for. Every person is different and has their own different problems, but you get mine, and i'm truly grateful for that.

This may seem all over the place, but that's how my brain works when I try and thank you for everything that you've done for me. It's all so much and the little things are so important too. (Like always buying me coffee — yay.) I just want you guys to know that you are very important to me and everything you do for me isn't unnoticed. Thank you.

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

16 Secrets Anthropology Majors Never Admit To

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

CSU

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
