11 Ways My Boyfriend Proves That 'Decent Guys' Still Exist
Vivian Moussa

Every girl creates an image of her "dream guy." Maybe he's tall, athletic, or someone who can always make you laugh. These are all great attributes to any guy, but in reality, what's important is how a guy makes you feel and what he adds to your life. It's when you can be your complete self around him that you know you've found "the one."

However, decent guys seem hard to come by in our society. It might take some searching and dealing with some douches, but I promise you, good guys still exist! Here's how my boyfriend still reminds me of this every day:

1. He takes selfies with me when he clearly doesn't want to

It's all about the memories right?! Even if you're guy doesn't like taking pictures, make him! He'll appreciate it down the road even if he won't admit to it now.

2. He takes you out to eat

It doesn't need to be anything fancy! My boyfriend and I love to eat, and then eat some more. It's okay for your guy to treat you (and himself).

3. He goes grocery shopping with you

Grocery shopping and having to carry heavy bags long distances can be a pain! There's no shame in having your man help you do your chores.

4. He enjoys snuggle time

I can't imagine any guy not wanting to curl up next to his girl, and any guy who claims he's "too cool" for it is someone you shouldn't want to be with. This is by far the best way to spend time with one another.

5. He does something only because he loves you

My boyfriend warned me he couldn't ice skate, but I still insisted he go! Despite some falls onto the ice, we had a good time because we were able to spend time together. It's all about compromising in relationships and doing things you wouldn't normally do just because it would make the other person happy!

6. He does "girly" things

Who doesn't love pampering themselves? Real men won't be ashamed of doing face masks; instead, they will LOVE to show off their silky skin.

7. He gets you gifts

Gifts don't have to be material items. They can be as easy as a handwritten love note. It's the thought behind it that really makes each gift special.

8. He's not afraid to be goofy

Letting lose and being yourself makes a relationship 10x more fun. Who wants to boring all the time? Have fun!!

9. He understand your makeup obsession

He might not fully agree with it, but he definitely respects it. And what's a better way then adding to your collection!

10. He turned into a coffee addict like you

Mr. "I don't drink coffee" now can't go a day without it! Relationships are all about learning new perspectives, and it's much better to do so with a coffee in hand.

11. He's your best friend

Even if it's just a Facetime, you have to see each other everyday. You want to be with them all the time because they're more than a romantic partner, they're your bff.

These are just 11 ways my boyfriend can bring hope to you, that yes decent guys still exist!

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
