A Thank You Letter To My Boyfriend

"I love you" doesn't even begin to cover it.

A Thank You Letter To My Boyfriend

Never in my life would I have imagined being with you (and it working so well) when we first met. When you Snapchatted me a year ago, the unimaginable happened. We continued to talk, and a short 3 weeks later we were dating. Now, you are my best friend, my strongest support system, and my entire life. All of the words in the world couldn't begin to explain how thankful I am that you re-entered my life, but I am certainly going to try.

1. Thank you for making me laugh.

I am thankful that you make me laugh every single day. You are always acting silly and carefree, and I love that about you. Laughter is one of the most important things in life, and you give me plenty of it.

2. Thank you for always making me happy.

With you, there are an endless amount of smiles, kisses, and jokes between us, and I could not ask for a better way to spend my days. When I am grouchy, you do everything in your power to cheer me up and put a smile back on my face.

3. Thank you for enduring all of my meltdowns.

It happens quite often; the crying, the panic attacks, and the general moodiness. You have to be a special kind of patient to deal with that, and you do it with ease.

4. Thank you for being my source of stress relief.

You always endure my rants and the release of all of my stress, and you never question it. You sit patiently, listening, and when I've done my ranting, you tell me that it's going to be okay. I could write down all my frustrations, work out, or some other form of stress relief, but when it comes to calming my nerves, you are my first choice.

5. Thank you for always putting me first.

I realize that asking for back rubs about fifteen times a day can be exhausting, but I want you to know that I appreciate every single one. You are always ready to cater to my needs, no matter what that means. You are the most selfless person I have known and I love that you care so much.

6. Thank you for letting me be myself.

I am loud, a little crazy, sarcastic, and goofy. The amount of life I take seriously is slim to none and I love that you let me be who I am. Even better, you are that way too. If we can't be ourselves in a relationship, what's the point?

7. Thank you for always supporting me.

I change my mind about every twenty minutes. I take on things that maybe put a lot of pressure on me (especially with my low stress tolerance). Through every decision change and stress induced freak out, you support me. You tell me that I can do it and that you are proud of me which means more thank you could ever know.

8. Thank you for pushing me to expand my horizons.

Trying new things is not something that comes easily to me. I am picky, I love Netflix, and being adventurous wasn't at the top of my list of things to do - until I met you. You have broadened my horizons with food, hobbies, and other things that I've always wanted to do but never did. You have shown me that being an adventurous person isn't scary, it's fun - most of the time.

9. Thank you for loving my family as if they were your own.

You play with my cousins endlessly, you ask to go to dinner at my family's house, and you even pick on me right alongside them. Family is one of the most important things to me, and it is a huge blessing that you love them just as much as I do.

10. Thank you for being my best friend.

In the time that we have been together, I have formed a bond with you like I have with no one else. We just work. You are ALWAYS there for me and having you in my life is a magnificent blessing.

Having you by my side is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. There are so many more things I could thank you for, but that would take years. So thank you for everything that you do.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
