Do you like helping the environment? Do you like puppies? Then this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Boy Scout Troop 316, based in Canton, GA is working with TreeCycler, a program where you can plant a tree in a country. You can plant a tree in Brazil and help the reforestation of the Amazon, or you can plant a tree the United States and several other countries! By donating $10 and planting a tree, you have a chance to win a cute and wonderful goldendoodle puppy. This puppy, which is valued at $2,200, is being donated to Troop 316 by Heaven on Earth Goldendoodles!

What is a Goldendoodle?

Goldendoodles are a mix between a golden retriever and a poodle, and they are usually a first-generation mix. They vary in size from miniature to standard, and they are known to be wonderful pets for families and first-time owners because they either lightly shed or don't shed at all. These precious dogs are very friendly and obedient and kind to children, strangers, and other dogs.

What is TreeCycler?

TreeCycler is a program where they support reforestation programs. Deforestation is a serious problem that humans have caused, and at the current rate of deforestation, rainforests can disappear in a hundred years. TreeCycler is invested in several reforestation projects across the globe, and you have the option to plant a tree in one of 21 countries! By doing so, you would only need to donate $10 and receive your Plant-a-Tree code, which you can receive here!

Your donation helps support Troop 316 Boy Scouts by off-setting the cost of scouting, and in addition helps the environment by your planting of a tree in a location of your choice around the globe.

Thank you for considering our cause, and I hope you donate and have the chance to win a goldendoodle! It is you choice to donate only or donate and be put in the drawing for the goldendoodle.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
