To My Boyfriend: Thank You

To My Boyfriend: Thank You

Dear Boyfriend,

The first night I met you, I would have never imagined to end up where we are now. It was all a result of complete and utter fate. Just when I had finally stopped looking for someone, I just so happened to have found you. And man oh man, I am so beyond grateful that I did.

We always talk and laugh about how we met, but look where we ended up. But fast forward past getting to know one another and becoming friends; we grew into something I find to be so beautiful. Something I never even pictured for myself in my wildest dreams.

We always talk about how both of us had just kind of given up on searching for someone at the time we found each other. Again, this is something I'm so grateful you were willing to take a chance on.

There are so many things that I feel like you should know that I'm thankful for. Some of these may sound like repeats to you, but some may be things I've never told you before. I always tell you I can never find the words to express how blessed I am to have you in my life, so here is the combination of words I finally put together:

Thank you for enjoying the little things. You enjoy the simplest of moments when we're together: whether we're in a park swinging on swings, watching a scary movie, or just playing board games, you never fail to have a smile on your face.

Thank you for letting me take naps while cuddling with you. After the amount of times this has happened already, unexpectedly (...kinda), you definitely deserve some kind of award. I think the best part of it all is when I wake up and the first thing you say to me is: "You're so cute when you fall asleep on me".

Thank you for being such an open book. You love talking about anything and everything with me: positive or negative, simple or complex. You actually sit there and listen to my "girl problems", and I give you major props for that.

Thank you for making me laugh. This is an everyday occurrence. Between your corny jokes and your cheesy pick-up lines there's always something you say that just makes me laugh at least once a day. And of course I'm not laughing at you, just with you (for the most part).

Thank you for making me feel so happy every day. Not a single day goes by where I don't think about how lucky I am to have you; and I'm pretty sure I tell you that on a daily basis. But words seriously cannot express enough how beyond grateful I am to have you. You always tell me that you're the lucky one, and I will continue counter-argue that (I'll settle at us both being pretty lucky though).

Thank you for accepting me for who I am. You let me be 100% me with no judgement. You understand my one-of-a-kind language and chime in on the crazy talk I usually bring to you. You don't take things too seriously and know how to joke around. You understand my sense of humor and are 100% accepting of everything I have to offer.

Thank you for constantly complimenting me. This especially goes for the days we designate as "bum days". The second you see me, you tell me I look beautiful, and that means the world to me when I'm feeling like a potato.

Thank you for all, well most, of your sweatshirts. You said you started the year off with seven of them, and now are left with two. I promise I'll give you one or two of them back (maybe).

Thank you for the goodnight and good morning texts, every single day and night. This is something that means the world to me and you never miss a day. You started these on day one, and fast forward nine months later and it continues. These texts are the best way to start and end each of my days. You always find a new way to express your feelings and gratefulness in these messages, which always leads to a big smile on my face.

All in all, thank you for taking on life with me day by day. We're still figuring it out together, but it's a pretty damn good journey if you ask me. At the end of the day, you hold more than the title of boyfriend; but lets just say that word encompasses everything you are: my best friend, my date, my shoulder to cry on, my favorite person to nap on, the list goes on and on.

I can't wait to see where this journey together is going to take us.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Sister | Brother Style - Word Press

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
