The prospect of attaining a date for Formal can at times be stressful and intimidating. Sooner or later you must overcome your fears and ask one lucky guy to be your escort. Needless to say, there are plenty of ways to do so. Here are some last ditch ideas.

1. Hug Him from Behind.

Guys love to be hugged from behind. Quickly present your proposal while he's locked in your grip. Bonus: he won't be able to see you blush.

2. Trail of Candy.

Thankfully most Formals take place in the fall, around Halloween season. This is the time to buy cheap fun-sized candy in bulk. Simply create a path of sugary goodness that leads from your man of choice to where your trap lies in wait. Simple.

3. Stalk His Friends.

It's always good to reach out to those your target cares about. Get in good with his friend group and he'll be forced to accept you as one of his own.

4. Follow Him to the Gym.

He's more likely to comply if he witnesses your dedication firsthand. An hour or so on the treadmill next to him should do the trick.

5. Look Him Up.

If you don't already have his number, search for it. Get it through a mutual acquaintance or find him on social media. Once you can contact him directly, use emojis to get your point across.

6. Public Announcement.

When he's in the Caf surrounded, you can strike. Stand on the table and demand that he be your male consort for one night. He'll be delighted.

7. Remind Him.

As the date draws nearer, keep his anticipation high by sending fun reminders. Leave little pictures of tuxedos under his door, and start a countdown until the big day.

8. A Favor for a Favor.

See if he needs help with homework, or with anything. Offer him your services, but let him know you don't work for free. He gets an A and you get a corsage and nice dinner.

9. Enlist Your Mother.

Mothers have a scary way of making everything fall into place just the way they want it to. If you tell your mother you want a guy, she'll find a way to catch him for you. Before long, she'll have his mother on the phone and by that time, he's as good as yours.

Have no fear! The worst that can happen is rejection and lifelong regret and shame. Happy hunting!

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
