We are all born into a box. Actually, multiple boxes. One box is made of what society tells us we should and should not do. Another box tells us what should and should not make us happy. We also place ourselves into a box that we create on our own: our comfort zone. It illustrates the things we believe we can and cannot do.
As we go through our lives, the boxes experience metamorphosis. They shift and expand due to our experiences, people we meet, places we travel to, or things we are told (and choose to listen to).
But what we often forget is that we can always leave the boxes. The boxes aren't tangible. They are not real.
Transcending all of the boxes is nearly impossible. We are merely human. But in the meantime, we can create new boxes. When we see the opportunity, we can visualize, manifest, and create a brand new box for ourselves.
And when we leave a box, in the exact moment that our spirits are stepping out of the current box we’re in and through the empty, free space between boxes, we feel something rare and powerful. Adrenaline. The thing that makes us feel alive. Are all the ephemeral moments of adrenaline we feel in our bodies through our life at various chances not what create the life we live?
Adrenaline is not a drug, but a necessity. It should not be something we look for, but a grounding sensation that comes to us to reminds us who we really are. When you step out of your box and feel that adrenaline, you find out who you really are. Again: when you get out of your comfort zone, you find out who you really are.
Why is it so important to know who you are? Everyone seems to be on this spiritual conquest journey to discover who they really are, but why should anyone really care? Because knowing who you are is what keeps you safe in life.
If life is a series of choices, we will inevitably find ourselves weighing the pros and cons of taking certain risks or chances and then making those hard choices. Instead of making those choices by weighing the pros and cons, or terrifyingly asking yourself, “is this a good idea?”, there is a better way to live.
If you think about it, you will find that making certain choices will cost you the dignity of losing who you are. So, knowing who you are is what keeps you safe when you make those difficult choices, whether small or life-changing, because when you think you have nothing to lose, you always have yourself left.
This is how you know what to do, and what decisions to make: by asking yourself, “Is this who I am?” before you act. With that knowledge only you can possess, you can lose your fear and make the right choice for you and only you. And when we are less afraid, we can love more. Imagine the impact of the world losing just any amount of its fear and hatred and instead finding room to love more.
So take a risk today, big or small. Then use the natural adrenaline you feel from that and find a sense of direction and power. Then use your power to create new boxes for yourself and get the f*$% out of the box you’re in, so that you can start living your fullest life today and find out who you truly are.
