With the holiday season quickly approaching here's a list of all the things the teenagers of the family ALWAYS hear at family get-togethers and usually hate answering.

1. How's school? Are your grades okay?

2. Are you in a relationship?

3. Why aren't you in a relationship?

4. You know, when *enter older cousin's name here* was your age, they were in a relationship all the time.

5. You know *enter a different older cousin's name here* is doing so good right now in *something that you do too and they are trying to say that their child is better than you*

6. What are you majoring in again?

7. (If you are still in high school) Have you thought about college yet?

8. What are your financial plans to pay off school after graduating?

9. Why do you look so angry/bored/tired?

10. How's the food at school?

11. Have you been eating enough? (Or) What have you been eating? You look so big.

12. Do you have a job?

13. You know, you can't work in a pizza place for the rest of your life.

14. Have you gotten an internship?

15. You should probably get an internship for the summer, it might be too late after that.

16. Have you been partying at school?

17. Who are you living with?

18. Why are you living with boys?

19. Do you like any of these boys?

20. Are you stressed out at all?

21. See the top of list and repeat until the end of the holiday season.

Don't get me wrong, I love my family and I love seeing them for the holidays but there are just some questions or statements that I either don't want to hear or don't want to answer.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
