They both suck.
How did they both make it so far in this election? Here's my theory:
Name recognition.
We know Hillary Clinton because her husband was president.
We know Donald Trump because he got famous from being rich.
We didn't know Bernie Sanders or Gary Johnson.
I didn't even know Jill Stein was running, I thought she was a reporter or something.
This is why we have an election between a sexist racist Oompa Loompa and a woman who lies and cheats to get the upper hand.
We as a country didn't care enough to research the person who would be leading everything for the next 4-8 years, we didn't care enough to find the best candidates for ourselves.
We just voted for the people we remembered.
I'm not saying not to go out and vote. Because that has consequences almost as bad as electing either of the two worst presidential candidates ever to run against each other. But there are other options.
Gary Johnson and Jill Stein.
Just vote for who you want to vote. Educate yourselves and those around you. If name recognition was all that mattered we'd have Justin Bieber and Bill Nye the Science Guy running against each other.
(Bill Nye would arguably be the best president ever)
Moral of the story?
Either America will learn from its mistake, or this will become the new way of electing.
Just because someone is popular and attractive doesn't make them a good leader.
