Both hands On the Wheel

When you don't have both hands on the wheel, and your doing other things you should be getting a ticket.

Most of the people in the world today have a cell phone, but most of all they have a smartphone, where you can go online and go on different apps, text, and even take pictures but it doesn't stop there. People today do more than just using their cell phone, they are eating drinking, even doing makeup. This is shouldn't be happening on the road, we all should have both hands on the wheel, I think people should get a ticket for not having both hands on the wheel.

Even knowing I don't have my license yet, but I do have a permit. You see a lot of things on the road that you shouldn't be doing on the road.

Working on getting everything set is hard when you don't have anyone helping you and not enough money to get things done right away. But that doesn't mean anything. I set in my mom's truck and I look out the window and see people passing by eating, drinking, doing makeup, and even just doing something on their phone no matter if they are driving or stopped at a red light. It annoys me that people would rather be on their phones than actually drive the right way on the roads. But it's more than just that. People in the world today are so obsessed with the phones and social media that they have to be on their phones every second, yet people are on their personal phones at the work place too. I understand that but using your phone in any way while driving is something that I will never do.

My friends and family have asked me why don't I have my license yet, and I tell them the truth, The money for classes and I don't have the time with me going to school and working. But then they tell me well you can just go and take the test and get it and be done with it and then work for a car. yes I know, I can take my test up at any of the driving schools and go get my license since I have a permit, BUT I don't want to be one of those drivers that don't know how to drive! I want to actually be a good driver and not be someone that almost runs over someone, or hitting over cars, etc because they are on a cell phone, or eating or doing anything else instead of having two hands on the wheel.

For anyone that doesn't have two hands on the wheel, I really think they should get a ticket for not having two hands on the wheel because you are an endangerment to other drives and also people who have to walk. That one second you look away from the road or even to grab something that is in your car, you could be taking a life away from this world who should still be here. Your phone and people and food can wait It's not the end of the world when you're not on your cell phone or even. It will still be there once you are getting where you need to go.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
