Boston Celtics Trade Rumors

Possible trade busts and steals. Are they worth it?

The Celtics have been the head of many trade rumors over the past year. Most of them, being blockbuster trade rumors which included them getting a superstar, while shipping off high draft picks and young talent to another city. However, after digging deep into the research of the players involved, it seems it was a good thing some of the trades didn't get done. Here is a quick rundown of all the potential stars that were rumored to be coming to Boston.

Demarcus Cousins: One of the most talked about rumors over the past year. A seven-foot big man who is considered the best offensive center in the league. Played along Isiah Thomas in Sacramento, which means he does have connections with this team. The two things the Celtics struggle with the most are rebounding and shooting. Cousins would help with both of these as well as allow Hereford to play power forward, which is his more natural position. The only question about Cousins is his attitude. On a team that is built on hustle and passion, many question whether his negativity will bring down the locker room. Then again, if you're winning there is no reason to be negative. Trade for him.

Jimmy Butler: One of the biggest rumors around the 2016 draft was Butler going to Boston. He is a great defensive player who can slash and get to the rim with ease. The problem with Butler is, he is not a great shooter and is actually very similar to many of the members of the already crowded Celtic’s backcourt. A great defender with shooting struggles is not what the Celtics need to bring a championship to Boston. Stay away unless his trade value drops.

Klay Thompson: The most recent rumor to swirl out of the media. He is a great shooter and one of the best defenders in the league. It seems there is really no downside to Thompson except what the Warriors are asking for. To give up their first round pick, Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder seems a bit steep. Crowder would be the biggest loss considering there would be no replacement for a player to start at small forward. Love the player, don't like the offer. If this is a legitimate rumor and the price drops slightly, Danny Ainge needs to pull the trigger.

Blake Griffin: This trade rumor has pretty much drifted away since the signing of Al Horford. Mandy never really liked the Griffin deal, even before the signing. Griffin is a good rebounder with great athleticism. However, his defense is nothing special and it seems fans focus more on his flashy dunks than his other skill sets. Stay away.

There is no denying the Celtics need to make a big splash sooner or later. Whether it comes in the draft or free agency, something needs to happen.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week.
