Our plane landed at Boston Logan airport around midnight on a cool spring night. My girlfriend, Elle, and I, were headed up to the North East for a two-week adventure through Boston, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I wasn't sure what to expect - growing up in Florida, I was hesitant to spend such a long stretch of time up there. While I was excited for the pizza, bagels and lobster, the heavy accents and crazy drivers are things I could have gone without.
Our trip began in the Back Bay in an airbnb near the Prudential Center. After a few days exploring Boston Commons, we headed to the North End. If you're looking for the best restaurants up there, this is where you'll find them. Authentic italian food, fresh seafood, and top shelf wine - I never wanted to leave. We then shifted gears out of the city, across the Charles River to Harvard University where Elle's dad was receiving a masters degree in Public Administration. I had the opportunity to tour the Harvard University Law School, sparking my interest in law, which sparked my motivation to receive a secondary education and receive a law degree myself.
We finished out the trip in the Fenway neighborhood at the one and only Fenway Park. After grabbing a few brews at the Bleacher Bar, located at the field level of the ballpark, we headed up to our seats on the Green Monster - a euphoric experience to say the least. The Sox pulled off a win for us to close our wicked awesome stop in Beantown. Before we knew it, we were back on a plane headed to New Jersey, and, finally, Pennsylvania for our friends' wedding. By the time we got back to Florida, we were ready for a few days of sleep and some down time. However, I must admit that Boston is a pretty great place and I'd be lucky to call this city home.
'Til next time.
