Do you remember what you wanted to be as you grew up? I can remember the many professions I wanted: a witch, a teacher, a fashion designer and an artist. None quite worked out for me as I thought they would. I mean, who’d miss the to be able to carry a wand and cast spells?! However, I did find something that caught my attention. It was something that made me use three simple things: my imagination, a pen and paper. For most of my life, I have had teachers, families and friends who have supported my reading habits (THANK YOU FOR THE LOVE). I was already an avid reader, so much so that I’d try to read and finish a book through a class. I am proud to say that I want to be a writer. I used to always look forward to the creative writing assignments in class just to showcase my ideas.
The more I think about it, I realize that my obsession with writing became more evident with all of the English classes in elementary school, high school and college. There were books that caught my attention, making me realize how much I wanted to be a writer. Some books were assigned and others were read in my free time.
