12 Good Books For Each Month Of The Year

I read a book once a month for a year, and here they are!

A year ago, I vowed to read one book every month. I was never much of a reader when I was younger, but I figured it's never too late to start. One a month seems pretty pathetic, but between my school work, extracurriculars and my job, it turned out to be the precise length of time necessary to turn every page.

These novels were recommended to me by my friends and family, so I thought I'd pass them on once more to anyone looking for a new great read! I truly enjoyed all of them for different reasons, as each were so different and varied across all sorts of genres.

1. Turtles All The Way Down by John Green

2. Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides

3. Manhattan Beach by Jennifer Egan

4. The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler

5. O' Pioneers! By Willa Cather

6. The Tiger's Wife by Tea Oreht

7. All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

8. Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick

9. The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

10. The Hours by Michael Cunningham

11. Brooklyn by Colm Tóibín

12. The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

Great Value Colleges

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.
