For many college girls, college is a time of growth. It is a period where you are discovering who you are and changing for the better. Here's a list of books that include great advice that could help shape you into a better person.

1. "Uninvited" by Lysa TerKeurst

This book will reveal ways to feel God's love when you are feeling alone and not good enough. It is full of biblical truths that will show you just how much God does love you. This book is good for whatever season of life you are going through.

2. "The Best Yes" by Lysa TerKeurst

This is another great book by Lysa TerKeurst. It is about saying "yes" to only a few things than to everything people ask. This is a great book for anyone to read, but especially people- pleasers. If you're like me and have trouble telling people "no" then this is the book for you!

3. "Praying for Your Future Husband: Preparing Your Heart for His" by Robin Jones Gunn and Tricia Goyer

This book provides many different reasons and things to pray for specifically for him. I even began journalling my prayers for him and will one day give him that journal on our wedding day.

4. "The 5 Love Languages" by Gary Chapman

This book will help you discover how you like to be loved and how you like to show love. It changed how I see my relationships and how I act towards others. Showing your friends love in the ways that they would like can completely change a relationship. Read this book and find out your love language, then ask your friends to do the same. Discuss it and consider their love language when interacting with that person.

5. "Goliath Must Fall" by Louie Giglio

This book is about discovering your strongholds, learning how to fight them, and living in freedom from them. Get rid of the anger, fear, comfort, rejection, and addiction in your life and take hold of the promises God has for you. There is also a great sermon series on this on Passion City Church's website.

6. "Grace, Not Perfection" by Emily Ley

This book will help you find joy in the little things. It teaches you that you don't have to do everything, but to choose your priorities. It helps you realize that we are not called to a standard of perfection, but to be found in His grace.

7. "Every Young Woman's Battle" by Shannon Ethridge and Stephen Arterburn

This book is full of great advice that is backed by biblical truths. It will confront sin in your life and provide ways to change. it gives advice on how to handle the things you struggle with. It will help you win your battle if you apply the truths it teaches you.

8. "Lady in Waiting" by Jackie Kendall and Debby Jones

This book focuses on teaching you how to become the best you possible while you are waiting to meet your husband. It studies Ruth and gives you characteristics that every woman of God should possess. This is a good book for the girls who are wanting to prepare themselves for the future.

9. "Girl with Swords" by Lisa Bevere

Lisa Bevere teaches women how to use the Bible as a weapon and how to live as the warriors we are. She teaches you how to truly know and understand the Bible, and how to use it in everyday situations to live confidently.

10. "Counter Culture" by David Platt

This book will challenge you and culture. It will reveal to you ways you can act differently from society for the cause of Christ. He addresses many controversial topics that wouldn't normally be discussed. I gained so much knowledge on societal issues and biblical truths through this study.

11. "Kisses From Katie" by Katie Davis Majors and Beth Clark

This book is about a girl who gave up everything, moved to Uganda, and adopted 13 little girls. It will inspire you to completely give God everything, so you can follow Him. It teaches how holding onto worldly things can cause you to miss out on so many ways the Lord wants to work in your life. This book is perfect the girls with a heart for the nations. Beware: It might make you cry.

Give at least one book a chance, and see what you think. You may get uncomfortable because some of them challenge you, but you will appreciate that later on.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
