If you've clicked on this article, congratulations! You identify as a person who loves books. Me too! Unfortunately for us, there are people out there who just don't appreciate the written word the way we do. Here are struggles that we, as book lovers, have to nobly bear as we lead our literary-enriched lives.

1. When we talk about a book we're reading and people shrug it off and say 'That sounds kind of weird.' or 'That's totally unrealistic.'

Like, are you serious rn? Okay, go back to watching Futurama or whatever.

2. When we go out somewhere that's going to have a long wait time and we FORGET THE BOOK AT HOME

I'm so disappointed in myself. And bored.

3. That complete EXCITEMENT we feel when the next book in our favorite series comes out. Even more so, when we hold it in our hands!

Friends, family, and innocent bystanders, beware our joy!

4. When someone says to us, "You like to read? I hate reading. I can't remember the last time I read anything."

That's just sad, actually. I feel sorry for you.

5. When our favorite character is presented with a solution to the problem they've been battling for two books now and we're thinking, "It can't be that easy. Something terrible is going to happen to mess this all up, I know it."

6. When the resolution to the book is coming up fast, everything's going swimmingly and then the MAIN CHARACTER IS BETRAYED BY SOMEONE IMPORTANT TO THEM WITH TEN PAGES TO GO.

You can't help but feel completely betrayed as well.

7. When we're debating on purchasing that Barnes & Noble membership..and then we do it anyway. I mean, we totally spend enough there anyway to justify the cost of the membership!

When it really comes down to it, book lovers really have the great end of this deal. The benefits of reading are endless. This summer and as we go back to school, pick up a book! Maybe you'll be surprised by what you find.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
