Bones: The Best Show on TV

All in all, it's close to perfect.

Bones: The Best Show on TV

A couple of months ago, I was introduced to one of the best shows I've ever watched. Yes, it's one of those crime shows. But it's so much more than that. Thanks to my Netflix subscription, I have been binge-watching the show every chance I get. There are so many amazing moments, and it is so easy to fall in the love with the cast.

What show, you ask? "Bones." Actually known as the best show on TV.

If you've seen (or even if you haven't seen) the show, here is a list outlining why Bones is my favorite show (and soon to be your favorite too)!

1. Typical Brennan

She's so smart, yet she can be so confused.

2. Booth and Brennan 4ever

Yeah, okay, so maybe they hated each other at first, but they're definitely the cutest couple on TV. There are a million reasons to love them, especially if you watch the series from the beginning.

3. Character diversity

Bones has numerous main characters. There are the crazy smart squinterns (yes, I spelled that correctly), the adorable shrink, a hot FBI agent, and a rocking genius forensic anthropologist.

4. She understands us

While we're neglecting our fellow humans to watch this show, it's nice that she understands our lack of social skills. It kinda makes us want to watch more, you know?

5. One word: Sweets

If you are familiar with the show, you are extremely familiar with our favorite shrink. Sweets is an adorable and lovable character. Some would argue that he practically makes the show.

6. The show in a nutshell

On Bones, there are a ton of different cases. Some episodes have to do with serial killers, while some episodes have to do with a dead Santa. You never know what you're going to get.

7. Strong female lead

Angela Montenegro, also known as one of the kick-ass, beautiful, strong-willed female leads of the show.

8. Adorable kids

Could they have picked a better actress to play the child of Booth and Brennan? The answer is actually no. Sunnie Pelant is an adorable little girl. Episodes with her in it are naturally my favorite.

9. Don't question it

Obviously you have to see this particular episode to understand what's going on, but even without it, it's pretty funny.

10. Shhh...he's undercover

Booth tends to go undercover, and it's honestly pretty great. I don't necessarily dig the mustache...but you win some, you lose some.

11. They're real with us

No question is a dumb one, but at least we have characters who can point out the less intelligent ones.

All in all, Bones is a great TV show with twists and turns around every corner. If you're into those crime shows (or even if you aren't) and you haven't ever watched Bones, my best advice is to get on it. There are so many lovable characters and memorable scenes. Basically, this show has it all.

What's not to love?

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
