Since 1983, Bon Jovi has been rocking the world with smash hits, and countless number ones. The band consists of lead singer and namesake Jon Bon Jovi, drummer Tico Torres, pianist and keyboardist David Bryan, and two new members of the group, lead guitarist Phil X and bassist Hugh McDonald.

McDonald and X joined the band after the departure of longtime guitarist and co-singer Richie Sambora. In 2013, in the middle of their Because We Can Tour, Sambora left the band due to “personal reasons.”

Jon, a New Jersey native, has been a heartthrob since the 1980’s. Known not only for his charming good looks and incredible musical talent, Bon Jovi is also involved in charitable works, such as The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Kitchen, which provides food for the hungry.

Bon Jovi, celebrating 33 years, has topped the charts with songs that make us roll down our car windows and shout them at the top of our lungs. “Runaway”, released in 1984, from their self-titled debut album, was their first hit single.

After two relatively successful albums, the group changed their approach and released Slippery When Wet in 1986. Their first number one, and most successful, album sparked hit songs we still love today. “You Give Love a Bad Name,” “Wanted Dead or Alive”, and “Livin’ on a Prayer” are considered some of Bon Jovi’s most well-known tracks.

In 2000, the band released their hit single from their album, Crush. “It’s My Life” was the song that opened Bon Jovi up to a younger audience. It also became a symbol of the band’s longevity as they went through many changes in the rock scene.

Bon Jovi has released more songs than I can count, and has had major success as a band.

“Have a Nice Day”, “I’ll Be There for You”, “Who Says You Can’t Go Home”, “Because We Can”, and many others are chart topping songs that fans know every word to.

In 2013, Bon Jovi’s world turned upside down. On top of Sambora’s departure, Torres has abdomen surgery and could not go on the rest of the tour, and Jon left music to focus on becoming an NFL owner, but lost the Philadelphia Soul to the Buffalo Bills franchise.

The band released Burning Bridges in 2015, a compilation album with new songs and formerly unreleased songs.

This past Friday, November 4th, Bon Jovi released their 14th studio album, This House is Not For Sale. Their first album to be released under a new label and without Sambora, is one that they are going to be very proud of.

Their lead single that bears the album’s name was released in August.

THINFS is all about integrity and the band reinventing themselves. If you listen closely to the lyrics, Bon Jovi sings with such passion and vulnerability in his heart. This is their most personal album yet.

The band is going on tour starting on February 8th in Greenville, South Carolina. The first leg runs until March 22nd in Indianapolis, IN.

Bon Jovi has been around for 3 decades, and are still rocking. They make time for their family, along with music, touring, and other projects.

Check out their new album, and “Have a Nice Day”!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
