Body shaming will never go out of style. You can run but you sure as hell can't hide from it. Body shaming will never escape you. Whether you're 120 pounds, 216, or 155- your body is not what society wants to see- in fact, its nothing society wants to see (but that's a whole other story). The truth of the matter is, whether you're 21, 13, or 53 your body will always be a sight to see and an object to judge, sad isn't it? You will always be too fat, too skinny or too "perfect" and that's when judgements begin on how natural your body really is. For example; reality star and beauty mogul Kylie Jenner has been in scorching hot water in terms of how "real" any part of her really is. Last year she was being attacked about her lips, two months ago it was her curves and now it's her seemingly enlarged chest under scrutiny. The point of the matter is, you will never fit society's standards without breaking one of its rules.Even if you think you look phenomenal and flawless, society will find a way to break you down to your core by attacking every inch of every single one of your features. Victoria's secret models are being targeted for being too skinny and too high of an expectation to exceed????
So since you're already this far into my rant, you may as well continue. I'm talking to you. You with the curves and thick thighs, you with the "flabby" arms and heavy legs, you with the "paper thin" stomach and "boney" legs. You are not too thick, your flab does not deem you unworthy of love or attention. And yeah you, I didn't forget- you are not too skinny, you are what you let yourself be. You are You. Stop letting somebody hiding behind a computer, a desk on a news channel or behind a hashtag on youtube tell you what your body should really look like. The reality is, you're not ever going to be perfect for anyone but yourself. No one is ever going to love you and your body the way you do. Not everyone is going to like you, news flash you don't have to like everyone too!! (I know, thrilling, isn't it?) Whatever your definition of beauty is, stick to it, own it, live it, love it. If that means working out twice a week, 9 times a week or not even once a week then you do that. If it's about health, then change yourself to make a better you for YOU not because that girl on youtube said: "thin was in". Learn to love your body and your body will love you right back. We cannot stop everyone from stating their opinions (as much as we disagree or dislike them) and body shaming will unfortunately never end. If you're on the heavy side, someone is always going to recommend you eat a salad instead of that bangin' burger, if you're thin somebody will always push you to double or even triple the current food item in your hand, and if you're someone who works out a lot and its shows then YOU GO GIRL but even then someone will tell you to ditch the gym and be more "human". We shouldn't strive to end body shaming, let alone give in, we need to strive to love our bodies or work towards what we want- or we're never gonna catch a damn break.
