Boba is by far one of the greatest inventions of all time. Who would've thought of putting small tapioca balls in our favorite drinks? My love of the infamous beverage has driven me on a city-wide hunt for the best boba. So I have compiled a list of spots where you can get these addicting drinks.
341 Kearny Street, San Francisco, CA 94108
Recommendation: Blueberry slush with boba in a jar
If you’re in the mood for some delicious boba in the cutest reusable glass jar, this is your spot. This boba spot is a bit overpriced but the jars that the drinks are in can be reused in many different ways. Plentea is conveniently located near Chinatown and Union Square. You can grab a drink to go as you venture into these go-to tourist spots or grab a seat in this chic environment. Plentea offers the option of adding boba in a specialty milk tea, smoothie, or a fresh fruit tea. You can also add a sweet dessert, such as waffle sandwich, to your order. Make sure to snap a cute picture for Instagram!
Tpumps
1916 Irving Street, San Francisco, CA 94122
Recommendations: Honey passion pomegranate smoothie with black tea, pineapple guava lychee smoothie with black tea, and a raspberry vanilla smoothie with black tea
The flavor combinations are endless at Tpumps. Tpumps provides a unique drink experience. You get to pick the size, the flavors, the type of tea, the level of sweetness, and your choice of topping. Tpumps offers an array of toppings and flavors -- I mean, there’s tons of flavors! You can literally come up with a new drink every time you come in. In my opinion, Tpumps has the most delicious boba out of the listed spots. The honey boba is by far the sweetest tapioca balls I have tried. You truly get the bang out of your buck.Quickly
331 Clement Street (Between 4th and 5th Avenue), San Francisco, CA 94118
Recommendation: Pineapple slush with boba, bubble tea with boba
Cash only! The most inexpensive boba spot on the list. You’ll either love this place or hate this place. They offer a variety of drinks from milk teas to snow (smoothies/slush texture). I make a trip down to quickly when I’m in the mood for something different. I order a banana snow which pretty much taste like mushed up bananas but it hits the spot. Also grab a bite while you're at it; the popcorn chicken is the best. Might as well grab a drink to go since it's so inexpensive!Tea Papa
560 Balboa Street, San Francisco, CA 94118
A recent favorite and the newest spot on the list, Tea Papa has one of the best milk teas. The new boba place in the Inner Richmond offers many different flavors of milk tea. The cute cups are just a plus to the their delicious drinks. I order a caramel milk tea, and let me tell you, it's the best milk tea I've had in awhile. Tea Papa offers both food and drinks. They have full size bento boxes and noodles. The cute drinks make it kind of hard not to take a pic.
