On June 11, the largest mass shooting to have ever occurred in the U.S. occurred in Orlando, Florida, in a gay club called Pulse. As of now, 59 people have been pronounced dead with more than 50 people injured. The shooter was targeting gay people which is why he targeted Pulse(a primarily gay club). With so many people being injured, blood was and still is in high demand for the wounded victims in Orlando as well as trying to replenish the blood bank to make sure we have enough blood to help others who may need it in/near the Orlando area. Though there have been times in the past when Orlando was in high demand for blood, there was never a time when something like this happened.

This picture can't even do justice for how amazing seeing this was. In such a sad time, after an inspirational singer is killed and then the largest mass shooting in U.S. history occurs in our backyard, this was a beautiful sight to see.

This is just one location in Winter Garden, Florida. This location was a line in Fowlers Grove. This was a line for a BIG RED BUS. The line was all the way down the block and then back down the street again. Target donated chairs to help. People were buying Popsicle, cases upon cases of water, carts full of snacks, stores donated and people brought tents and umbrellas. There were Target and Best Buy employees helping hand out snacks and waters. On top of that, people were selling Pride flags and other symbols to raise money for the family and others in need. I have never in my life seen so many people come to help one cause, in person.

This wasn't the only location in which there was record breaking lines such as this one. So many people came to answer the call for blood they had to send some home and tell them to come back another day. This was happening all around central Florida at multiple donor locations.

In such a sad time, with so many terrible events happing in my hometown, I have to say this was so beautiful and made me so proud to live in Orlando again and be surrounded by these amazing people on a daily basis.

Remember, Orlando Is in need of blood right now, if you live in/near the Orlando area, don't forget to go donate some blood!

Also, they have removed the ban for gay men and people who recently got tattoos temporarily in Orlando, so go donate and save some lives!

Thank you Orlando and the rest of Florida for helping restore a little bit of my faith in humanity.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
