Surrender (blessings come disguised as curses).
Only in the face of what we do not want, do we adamantly seek out that which we do want. In the face of illness is where we find ourselves reaching for better health. In the midst of financial uncertainty, we find ourselves reaching for better careers. We find ourselves probing for the existence of a higher power the most stubbornly throughout our most painful experiences. It seems as if our greatest desire for joy arises only in presence of our greatest turmoil. This desire being so profound, so heartfelt and genuine that it ultimately gives rise to a discovery; a discovery of an antidote after a newfound viral strand had been encountered.
Perhaps we should look at the ill’s in life we encounter differently. Perhaps we should look at setbacks inversely. Perhaps these events should be regarded as wonderful opportunities to seek and discover that which we truly desire the most. In the same moment we experience something uncomfortable a desire is born within us that moves us effectively and efficiently towards a place of relief. Had not that “discomfort” been discovered, that condition of reprieve would have never been actualized. We must move to the question then, “are blessings disguised as curses?" If they are, then perhaps everything we experience in our lives is truly for our growth and expansion. What a wonderful existence that would be?
I have seen the greatest evolution and development personally, after experiencing grief. Must I then offer my appreciation to that which sought to destroy my happiness, yet ultimately only made me stronger? Why then should we avoid painful situations if they give rise to joyous occasions? Have you experienced heart break in your life? Nothing seems to ease your agony. No words hold enough optimism to chaperon you through the torment. You sincerely feel as though there exist no other in the world that can hold your heart in the same way as your ex-lover; however, time goes on and your pain eventually subsides.
