In present time, colored women are so underrated, especially when it comes to social media platforms and YouTube as well. This article is simply here to shed light on 7 of the beautiful, interesting, and hardworking young men and women on YouTube. If you are reading and are interested in viewing their YouTube videos, simply click on their picture, and it will redirect you to their YouTube, I will also leave their Instagram @ name as well! Now, I am in no way bashing non-colored YouTubers, however I am using my platform to positively give the YouTubers I did address a huge thumbs up.
Alissa Ashley (@AlissaAshley)- Makeup
If you have hooded eyes, Alissa is the way to go. She tailors each and every single one of her looks to compliment hooded eyes. On her channel, she features ideas that she has created, like Mystery Makeup Monday, which is a complete surprise to the viewer until they click on the video. She is also the queen of slow-mo's and blinding people with her highlight. Alissa Ashley also paired up with fellow YouTuber Alyssa Forever and created a video using only black-owned/run business makeup products.
Nia Imani (@Niabiafoefia)- Natural Hair Care/Makeup/Vlogs
Nia Imani is the QUEEN of natural hair care, but also posts makeup videos as well as vlogs that keep you asking for more. One thing I really enjoy about her channel is the fact that there is something for everybody, it doesn't just have hair care, or doesn't just have makeup tutorials, she invites you into her life through vlogging. Personally, I found out about her because she attends the university that I will be in the fall, and would post vlogs on campus. The Hampton University videos are a main reason that I was drawn to her channel, but after watching literally every last video, it's so much more to her than that. Nia also encourages other young women to embrace themselves as is, go natural and love the natural you. Everything regarding her is so beautiful, from her hair, to the way she carries herself and reacts to situations.
Shayla (@makeupshayla)- Makeup/Hauls/Vlogs
Arguably one of my favorite YouTubers. I'm not only following her on social medias such as Instagram and Twitter; her Snapchat is my favorite part of her. She always engages her cute puppy, Titus, in mostly all of her snaps while she is home, as well as posts many workout Snapchat stories that make you want to get moving. She recently also paired up with Tarte Cosmetics to make a stunning contour palette.
Mikala Walker (@mikalawalker)- Makeup
Although she has yet to post YouTube videos, Mikala promised her twitter followers to stay tuned for them coming soon. She is arguably one of the most talented younger makeup artists in the game. From bright, bold looks to neutral everyday ones, she has looks that others love recreating.
Faceovermatter (@faceovermatter)- Makeup/Hair
The most gorgeous, God-fearing woman on YouTube. Throughout her Instagram, she constantly posts motivational God-related quotes, as well her amazing, glowy makeup looks.
Arnell Zinnerman (@arnellarmon) Hair/Makeup
Arnell is Alissa's sister, and they both give me so much life. Although the two may do the same form of makeup tutorials, both sisters have different ways of doing it. Arnell is so underrated and deserves way more credit for her work.
Alyssa Forever (@foreverflawlyss)- Makeup/Hair/Fashion/Lifestyle
Alyssa is one of the best makeup artists when it comes to simple, but amazing looks. All of her looks are super easy to follow along to and recreate. She also teamed up with Alissa Ashley and did a video that took the recent events in regards to black lives matter and turned it into B.O.M.B (Black.Owned.Makeup.Brands MATTER). Every video with Alyssa makes you feel more in touch with your inner sassy diva.
To wrap things up...
Each and every one of these beautiful women add their own flair to their YouTube channels, and definitely put black girls on the map. Black YouTubers DO matter, and they embrace their melanin daily.
