Ladies and gentlemen, today we are going to discuss the black-and-white filter and prove the theory that this classic filter can turn any photo into a thought-provoking, masterful work of art.
At this point, you may be questioning my sanity. I can assure you that I am also questioning my sanity. However, this is a theory that I have spent countless time pondering. After all, how many times have YOU added a filter to your selfie to make it look better. Specifically, how many times have you used the black-and-white filter?
I started thinking about this when I got my head-shots taken of me and my clarinet.
Included in the received photos was this:
I mean, it's okay, but it couldn't compete this one:
Can you spot the difference? Yes, the difference is in the filter!
This led me on a journey to prove the theory that black-and-white filters just make photos more awesome. On this quest, I've found that not only does it work with scenery and animals...
...but also on countless inanimate objects!
If it can be used on these everyday objects, do you know what that it means?
It’s PERFECT for those Instagram food photos!
Does it work on empty hallways?
Yeah!
What about store signs?
Yes!!
What about objects that are naturally off-putting? For example, feet?
Whoa! It seems that even feet are no match for this mighty filter!
The final test: Can this filter save our blurry pictures?
Amazing!
There you have it folks. The black-and-white filter is tried and true. It's a staple in our photo editing software, and now you understand why: It's magical!
I'm by no means a professional photographer. These are just photos I took and edited on my iPhone. If a rookie photographer like myself can turn simple photos into works of art, then imagine what the pros can do!
Now, get out there and turn your photos into thought-provoking works, but maybe stay away from the feet.
