Before I dive into this article, I would first like to welcome your arguments and disagreements. This is a controversial topic and tends to bring forth a lot of debate. I welcome your comments in support, or disgust, and hope we can have a decent conversation.
The Black Lives Matter group has gained serious ground over the last few years. They have increased in membership, media time and have constantly carried out their acts of vandalism. This group that claims to “fight for justice and equality for the African American community” is nothing more than a group of domestic terrorists, like it or not.
This group began their actions with the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, which was one of the most controversial cases that has ever occurred. Talking about the outcome, results and details of that incident isn't the point here. The point here is that after the case, they began their movement by using “#BlackLivesMatter” on all forms of social media. They screamed out against “police brutality” and “racial profiling” while taking their protests to an extremely violent level.
That leads to my main point and idea here. According to current United States law, set forth in the USA PATRIOT Act, acts of domestic terrorism are those which: “(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State; (B) appear to be intended — (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and (C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States."
Furthermore, the Black Lives Matter movement is a serious threat to the national security of the United States of America, which means they are a threat to territory, people or way of life for America's citizens. Way of life includes freedom (civil rights), chance of increasing one’s life (economic freedom), prosperity, political freedom, openness and stability of its citizens.
A main theme for terrorists is to disrupt daily life of a country’s people. Black Lives Matter protesters have blocked roads, burned businesses, attacked officers and innocent people, and ultimately used violence to push their message. Whether you think there has been an unfair act against an African American in police custody is irrelevant. The point is, they are undeniably domestic terrorists according to United States law and definitions of terrorism.
They claim to fight for equality and justice when their very actions cause an unbelievable upheaval of stability and law enforcement which leads to civil unrest. There are ways to change laws here in America, and violently protesting is not one of them. This group, leaders and members, all deserve to be treated like the traitors that they are.
