Black Boy, Independent School
Non of the teachers looked like me
The N word was engraved on the lips of almost every white classmate I had
The amount of black people in the school
Filled up half a lunch table
“SnitchinG” because we didn’t feel safe in our own
Skin in school was a sin
You was to only be good at sports and nothing more
The glare of “why are you here” was instilled in the
Eyes of the people at the school
We were to be able to take transgression against us
But not show aggression against them.
Being black boy in a private school is not your personal fetish, hate punching bag, or charity case, it's just a boy trying to get his education.
