I remember freshman orientation like it was yesterday. Well, it practically was in the grand scheme of things. The nerves I felt not knowing if I would make new friends and feeling intimidated by the thought of being in college. Yet here I am, going into my sophomore year.
All of the late night essays and late talks with new friends made my first year unforgettable. The friends you make in college last a lifetime. We have been there for each other through it all. Whether it was heart to heart or helping each other with assignments, we were there together. These memories will last a lifetime with many more to come.
It's okay to switch your major, because after all we are only 18 years old. How are we supposed to know exactly what we would like to do for the rest of our lives? It is okay to even switch it a couple times as long as you stick to your goals and work hard to achieve them.
College made me even more independent than I already was. You have to branch out on your own to make friends, and to get involved on campus. The academic work load is way more than it was in high school. Even though high school prepares you for college, it is you that has to act on this knowledge.
Staying motivated is key to success in our first year. It can be hard at times but is so worth it in the end.
I have always been mature compared to my classmates, but college helped me find myself and in a sense, grow.
Saying goodbye to my freshman year is going to be bittersweet because it's all up from here. Now comes even later nights in the library and even better satisfaction when we see that our hard work pays off. We will never be a freshman again, no longer the underclassmen, getting lost trying to find our class.
So, goodbye freshman year of college, its been real.
