Born Sarah Grace McLaughlin, Bishop Briggs is a 25 year old Alternative Rock / Indie Pop singer and songwriter. She wears her hair in a distinctive way with high pig tail buns. She was born in London, England... Grew up in Hong Kong... & went to college in Los Angeles, CA. So why am I writing this article about her? Because she has one of the greatest voices I have heard in a while.

She has been putting some music out since 2015 but has not been a familiar name to me. The first time I really heard a song of hers and dug deeper was at the beginning of this year. I honestly can not recall the day I first heard her, but I do know I was blown away by her vocals. I instantly downloaded her self titled EP. She has extended plays and a number of singles that have released. One of which was on the Fifty Shades Free soundtrack. Her voice stands out and has a unique sound. I think what made her stand out to me is she has a sound that is similar to Banks, which is another artist that I feel hasn't been given enough credit for her sound but has a great voice.

She recently put out her first album titled Church of Scars and it has won my heart over. It's been out a little over a week and a half and I swear I have all of the lyrics almost down. I wish I could give a top favorite song to check out but I can't because I love them all. At the moment I am jamming out to Tempt My Trouble but I vibe with them all! The vibes she gives are so smooth and a lot of her lyrics are incredibly relatable. I couldn't help myself but to share her with as many people as I can because I want to see her make it big. Check out her new album on any music platform or below for some full songs and a few previews!

In an interview with Billboard she said “If I’m not authentic, I might as well as be dead. Pursuing a creative field is giving a piece of your heart, over and over, and it’s not generally appreciated -- nor should it be. It makes you who you are.” Watch out everyone... Bishop Briggs is going to be the next big thing. She definitely worked her way up to my top fave artists!!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
