Pets, they're a part of the family. They are always there, offering us unconditional love. Our pets may be part of our lives, but to them, we're their whole life. Every year is a milestone for your pets, so we should cherish and celebrate every year we have with them. We celebrate our birthdays every year, so why not celebrate theirs?

Here are five reasons why you absolutely must have a birthday party for your pet:

1.  They'll enjoy the EXTRA attention.

Sure, you give your pet all the love and attention, but today is the day to go the extra mile with affection.

2.  You can bake them a cake.

This is your chance to show off your baking skills and bake them a pet-friendly treat. The other option is to buy local from a pet-friendly bakery. Either way, your pet is going to enjoy this scrumptious treat that is made special for them!

3. You can invite your friends to the party.

As if you and your friend need another reason to get together! This calls for a celebration that is sure to have everyone barking with laughter.

4. You can document the experience.

Their annual birthday celebration allows you to document the milestones your pet has achieved. These will be memories you'll look back on and cherish. So snap away with the pictures and videos!

5. It's a day dedicated to loving and appreciating them.

You can never go wrong with devoting at least one day to showing your appreciation to your pets. They surely deserve some recognition for always being there for you.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way.
