Dear King's Wing's, I Love You

Dear King's Wing's,

First of all I have to apologize for not trying you until finals week of spring semester freshman year. Yes, I went an entire nine months in Birmingham without having you. I am so terribly sorry. After my first box of glorious wings, I knew I could never live without you again.

Thank you for your to-die-for wings (Honey BBQ makes my heart swoon) and your seasoned-to-perfection fries. Thank you for having an extra large seasoning shaker on the counter because there is never too much. Thank you for actually giving me more than enough ranch for my wings and French fries. Thank you for never complaining when I ask for extra sauce. Thank you for opening at 10 a.m. because you do make for the perfect brunch. Thank you for having a drive-thru so that, on those lazy mornings or late nights, I don't have to leave the comfort of my car.

I learned not to judge you when my roommate had me get her a Kiki-Poo. Thank you for not judging me when I pronounced it incorrectly. I now know your drink names are what makes you unique. Your variety of wing flavors also makes you stand out. These are two more things I truly appreciate you for.

I know from your student discount that the feeling is definitely mutual, and I love you for that. Because of this, I can afford to have to you all the time. I never want to be away from you. You are always there for me, in the mornings or past midnight. King's Wing's, thank you for all you have given me and I will love you until the end of time.

Forever yours,
Shana

P.S. Here is a beautiful picture of you. (Featured: Garlic Parmesan Wings with Seasoned Ranch Cheesy Fries)

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
