Bingeworthy Review: A Bunch of Random stuff

Okay so. I’ll be honest, I was going to review Stranger things for this week’s Bingeworthy Review. However I haven’t finished watching it and I just found out that the article is due tomorrow but I don’t have the time so I'm not sure what to do. Because Stranger Things is amazing and I cant give it a proper review right now. Ill give you guys a solid review for it next week I promise. But now… uh damn. Okay okay I got it. Im looking through my netlix suggested “top Picks” right now, so im going to give a first impression or review of the first few suggestions that are there. so lets review: a bunch of random s&%t

Okay so first suggestion is Futurama. This show has been on long enough that it doesn’t even need an introduction. It’s was Matt Groeing’s side project while he was doing the Simpsons back in the late 90’s early 2000s. Now I used to love this show. I started watching it on [adult swim] every night at 11pm when I was in second grade and I thought it was the best. Ive seen all the original episodes enough times to know every single line. They did a reprise of the show with four movies and two seasons on comedy central, but I don’t think they hold up as well in terms of story and original comedy. I don’t know if im letting nostalgia cloud my perception or if I just have a different sense of humour as I aged. In the end, I give Futurama 3/5

Next is a Netflix “original” Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy: We’ve Been Thinking. I think Netflix just likes suggesting titles based on genre, instead of actual content. If you watch one anime on Netflix you get a thousand titles being suggested to you. “hey Tyler, you watched Jim Jeffries, Bo Burnham and Louis C.K., I guess you also like lowbrow country comedians whose combined IQ’s have the power to outsmart an avocado, Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the cable guy” no Netflix! that’s a bad Netflix! go to your room! The rundown on their special is, “They’re legends of homestyle comedy humor, teaming up on stage. And they’ve got a few new thoughts to share.” Even Netflix is low balling this comedy special. I’m giving it the same review Netflix gave it: 1.9/5

This next title looks interesting, “Jonathan strange and Mr Norrell” it’s a seven one hour episode BBC series an alternate past in 18th century England where, “magic is real, and sorcerers are the comeback stars of British society.” Honestly that sounds pretty rad. Netflix isn’t giving me a lot of depth into the genre because it’s classified as “TV show, British TV Show” so there’s not much to go on. Is it a comedy? A thriller? It’s all uncertain and I think I’ll give this a watch at some point and give it a more in depth review. For now I’ll leave you whit the Netflix rating: 4.9/5.

“Mad Men.” I never seen it, apparently it’s amazing, or am I thinking of house of cards? Honestly I don’t really care for it, there’s nothing that really pulls my attention and I never met anyone who was like, “dude, you gotta watch Mad Men it’s so dope.” I’m sure it’s good, I just don’t have any interest in seeing it. So I’ll give it 2/5 stars.

Last title for this random review, is The Little Prince. It looks like an animated film that blends stop motion, CGI, and traditional 2D animation. It seems to be a film that juggles the line between cutesy and charming. The summary of this film sounds surprisingly deep. “He taught her about imagination, loneliness and love. She’ll always remember to see with her heart.” Wow that got me a little bit. It sounds like this movie is emotionally deep and can entertain old and young hearts alike. Netflix might have actually suggested me something good. Ill have to see for myself.

Well thanks for giving this a read, I promise to have a good review for Stranger Things next week. Keep your eyes on Netflix and screens? I’m not sure what I’m talking about how I end this article anyways. Wait am I typing this? Oh well. Maybe they’ll get a laugh out of it.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
