When you need to find a new television series, it often times can be tricky. You want to choose one that you will enjoy and one that will also live up to your expectations based on the series you just finished. With so many options on Netflix, I have often times found myself overwhelmed at all the new shows I could possibly watch and fall back into a series I have already seen to prevent myself from being disappointed. These six television series have not let me down and are totally worth giving a try!

Grey's Anatomy

This series is widely known. If you have never given it a chance, you might wonder what all the hype is about this series. This television show has something for everyone. From interesting medical procedures to love and romance to comedy and even drama, Grey's Anatomy has it all. Throughout the show, viewers become emotionally invested in the characters and watch as they struggle through life as interns and eventual residents.

Scandal

The series Scandal is based in Washington D.C. The main character, Olivia Pope, goes through life running her company " Oliva Pope & Associates." Based in the nation's capital, this show is based around political life in D.C in terms of the president as well as many other interesting people that are introduced throughout the show. With love triangles, crime and secret government agencies, this show captures the audiences' attention and has the viewers glued to their television screen (I finished all seven seasons in three months)!

Friends

This '90s sitcom is another very well known series. If you have never given it a watch I can tell you that you're missing out! This show can lift your spirits on any day no matter how bad. The six main characters struggle through life together in New York City as late twenty-year-olds All the drama and laughter that is packed into this series is something no one should miss out on!

White Collar

This show was one of my favorites to binge-watch. Neal Caffrey, a criminal in prison, is offered a deal to be released four years early into the custody of FBI agent Peter Burke. Officer Burke wants to use Caffrey's intelligence and criminal thinking to help the agency solve crimes. This series allows you to form ties with many characters and leaves you on shock when the last episode concludes.

How To Get Away With Murder

This series begins each season with a murder. Throughout the season, different pieces are put together until the viewer can make sense of what has taken place. Five of Annalise Keatings' most promising law students are offered an opportunity to work alongside her and her fellow co-workers. Throughout the series, you watch as some characters become corrupt and others sadly pass away. This show ensures that your eyes are locked on your screen at all times and makes you never want to get off your couch.

The Vampire Diaries

Although this show may sound cheesy to some people, this show is amazing. The main character Elena Gilbert is grief-stricken when both her parents die in a horrible car accident. At the beginning of the series, Elena meets the Salvatore brothers. Once she meets these boys, her life no longer is the same. As the series continues her life is turned upside down and the viewers see Elena in many crises. This series, from the moment you start it, has you attached to the characters and I cannot tell you how many tears I have shed over this show!

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
