Summer B has come into full swing and I’m going to share with you the biggest trends of this summer. This semester gives students the chance to take a breather from their hectic schedule and focus on having some fun. Here are the top 10 trends of this summer!

1. Two-Pieces

I’m not talking about the bikini, but the two-piece clothing! Girls have been rocking the two-piece this summer and the trend is effortless. With a whole outfit at your fingertips, you can easily be ready for happy hour. The two-piece saves time and money because you won't have to worry about purchasing a top and a bottom!

2. Tied tees

A tied tee can transform any outfit. Look in your closet and pick out a plain tee and knot it. It will be a whole new shirt. Free People has the perfect tops to tie up. The function of your T-shirt will quickly be renovated.

3. Sunglasses

Sunglasses will be essential when it’s sunny out. One of the most popular sunglasses lately have been the Dior “So Real” glasses. Although it would be nice to own a $600 pair of sunglasses, that’s not realistic for a college student. As an alternative, Forever 21 and Nordstrom have great dupes!

4. Choker Necklaces

These are seen almost everywhere. You can pair them with a graphic tee or dress. Chokers are available at nearly every boutique now and are affordable, too. Forever 21 is the perfect spot to get chokers because the prices cannot be beaten. And in the end, chokers won’t be in trend forever, so you don’t want to break the bank when purchasing them.

5. Liquid Lipsticks

Liquid lipsticks have taken over the beauty world. Practically every makeup brand has created their own liquid lipstick. They are great to wear out because they’re long lasting, while still being comfortable on the lips. NYX has great liquid lipsticks with a variety of shades. Also, if you want to treat yourself, Kat Von D is the brand to invest in!

6. Sun

Duh! One of the biggest trends in general for summer is getting out in the sun. Whether you are at Stadium Centre’s pool or hanging out at the Rez, this is the perfect time to relax in the sun. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

7. Time

Usually time is a foreign subject for college students during fall and spring semester. During summer B, time creeps back into our lives. With only taking one or two classes, students have the opportunity to explore new things. Try a new sport or volunteer. Use your time wisely though, because once fall starts, that time will be gone.

8. Madison Social Trivia

Who doesn’t love Madison Social? Every Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m. you can play trivia. Categories consist of anything from TV shows to people. If you’re feeling bored on a Tuesday, try out some trivia!

9. Popsicles

This sounds odd when you read it, but popsicles are a huge trend this summer. Popsicle stores have been opening up everywhere. This is the perfect treat to indulge in while sitting in the sun. Check out DIVA POPS for your gourmet popsicles right here in Tallahassee.

10. Friends

No, not the show, but your actual friends. Summer B is the perfect time to catch up with them. If you’re at home, try to reconnect with those friends that attend different colleges. If you're enrolled in classes, hangout with those friends enrolled, as well. Whether it's a night out or night in watching a movie, you will always be guaranteed a good time with your friends.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
